New Here?

Walking into a new place can be a daunting experience. But please don't worry! We'll do everything we can to make you feel welcome.

Below is a list of answers to some questions you might have before you come to visit...

What if I'm not a Christian or don't go to church?

We welcome individuals from all backgrounds and walks of life. It doesn’t matter your religion, your job or your previous experience of church (or lack of it!), we'd love to meet you.

If you have questions or would like to know more about what we believe or why we do what we do, our pastoral team are always on hand to answer any questions. If you don't have a Bible then we’ll happily give you one.

In the meantime, why not check out our ‘Who We Are’ section, where you can learn more about our story and our beliefs, as well as meet our team.

What should I wear?

When you come to our church you'll see suits and ties, jeans and t-shirts, hats, skirts - everyone enjoying church together. We have no dress code. We welcome you wearing whatever you feel most comfortable in.

What if I have children?

Children have a very special place in our church and we want to make their experience just as meaningful as yours. During our Sunday services feel free to make use of our creche for young children.

For primary school children (aged 5-11), our 'Blast Off' program runs alongside the services where the children enjoy a time of fun and energetic worship of their own. Through music, games, craft and creative teaching, Blast Off is a time where children are "launched into a friendship with Jesus."

We also have a host of activities for children and young people during the week - Tuesday evening kids' club for primaries 1 to 4, 'Bridge' youth club on a Friday evening for primaries 5 to 7, Parent and Toddlers on a Friday morning, as well as our NYI (Nazarene Youth International) for teens and young adults. For more information on any of these see our 'What We Do' section.

Please note that all of the individuals working with children and young people at Carrickfergus Church of the Nazarene have willingly undergone volunteer referencing and NI checks.

What if I have a physical impairment?

We are an all-accessible, all-welcoming church and will do our best to make you feel a part of our community. It doesn’t matter your physical or mental ability, we'll do all that we can to make your visit comfortable.

We have easy access for wheelchair users and there is plenty of room once you're inside. We also have a ‘loop’ system installed for the hearing impaired.

If there is anything else you need to make your visit more comfortable, please do not hesitate to let our welcome team know, and we'll be more than willing to help.

Still Unsure?

If there is anything else that would put you at ease, then we'd love to help out. Send us an email or give us a call using the details in our 'Contact us' section.
